Clinical Validation
MG Solutions in Practice
Clinical evidence supports the effectiveness of remote patient monitoring and telehealth technology developed and manufactured by Medical Group. Our solutions are designed to improve patient outcomes across chronic disease management, enabling healthcare providers to deliver continuous, data-driven care beyond the clinic.
Technology-assisted case management (TACM) in diabetes
A clinical study evaluated the impact of technology-assisted case management using the MG 2-in-1 Telehealth System in a rural adult population with poorly controlled type 2 diabetes. Participating patients received regular medication titration based on continuous remote monitoring of blood glucose and blood pressure data transmitted via MG's telehealth platform.
Patients enrolled in the TACM programme achieved significantly lower HbA1c levels at six months (−0.99, P = 0.024) and demonstrated a measurably faster rate of blood glucose improvement compared to patients receiving standard care (−0.16, P = 0.038).
The study concluded that MG's remote monitoring technology directly improved patient–provider communication, expanded patient access to care, and supported greater medication adherence — outcomes that align with MG's mission to make quality healthcare accessible, accurate, and continuous for patients everywhere.
Evidence for remote monitoring
An Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality review found remote monitoring was consistently associated with benefits for chronic conditions, including:
COPD
Fewer disease exacerbations, improved quality of life, reduced hospital admissions and reduced ED use.
CHF
Reduced mortality, fewer hospitalizations and lower direct costs.
Diabetes
Improved blood glucose and HbA1c levels. Reduced hospital and ED utilization.
Differentiators
Patients with chronic diseases are good candidates for remote patient monitoring. Chronic disease care requires frequent assessments, yet these patients may experience barriers to the appointments where assessments traditionally occur. Remote patient monitoring helps bridge this gap while also providing a more detailed picture of patient health.
Numerous studies support the value of remote monitoring for patients with a variety of chronic conditions. Generally, health improves and less care is needed after these technologies are put in place. Remote monitoring may even keep patients out of the hospital, leading to lower costs, fewer complications, and better health outcomes. Mayo Clinic researchers documented a 40-percentage-point reduction in 90-day readmissions or Emergency Department (ED) care among cardiac rehabilitation patients who used an app to monitor their cardiovascular risk factors. Just 20% of that group visited the ED or was readmitted, compared with 60% of control patients.
When integrated with technology like the Medical Group 24/7 HealthView Telehealth system in clinical settings, remote patient monitoring enhances the critical management of chronic diseases. Healthcare providers empowered with real-time access to these metrics can adjust medications, communicate with patients, schedule appointments, or take other actions to stop potential problems.
